Visual Metaphor Filming Experience

I started by asking my neighbors if I could borrow their recycling cans to line them up on the street but the few that said yes were too far apart and too few so it would not have had the right effect even if I put the ones I got on other people’s driveways.  So I went with my first choice but not necesarrily my groups first choice, the lightbulbs.  At first the light fixture was fighting me but once I managed to get that undercontrol it was smooth sailing.  I loosened all the normal bulbs enough so that they would not light up and only the energy efficient ones would.  While the first energy efficient bulb was hard to see it was clearer that they were the efficient ones later, lukily.  I also got footage of all the energy efficient ones in but off, just in case we would need that to say that even though they are energy efficient you still need to turn them off when you leave the room.

What effect were you hoping for?

My idea has kind of changed throughout the process but I am looking to say that with the efficient bulbs you can keep them on longer and they are better than the regular bulbs. Basically something along those lines.

I get it. Nice idea! BTW, I saw what Frau said about cloth bags… I use those, too. I like how Trader Joe’s lets you put your name in a drawing for a bag of free groceries, if you bring in your own bags. I think it’s great when socially conscious businesses encourage people to do the right thing. It’s a win/win, because then more folks will not only bring in bags, but want to shop at their store.

Unfortunately I think that many people still see the cloth bags as a burden and will continue to use the plastic. But I agree with you on the win/win and I might have to go to Trader Joe’s because I have no idea what you are talking about, I do not shop there.
